Clara Fontaine, who emerged three years ago with the short film Orbit 7, makes her feature debut here. The pitch: an astronaut, alone aboard a drifting station, picks up signals that seem to come from the future. The production design is striking. Shot largely on location in Iceland, the cinematography favours desaturated palettes that reinforce the sensory isolation of the lead character, played by Ines Marchetti. The action sequences feel measured, never gratuitous.
