Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the first official image from The Broken Coast. The shot shows lead detective Ragna Thorvaldsen (Sigrid Moen) from behind, facing a grey and restless sea, in what appears to be a small wind-beaten harbour town.
The image is minimalist, almost contemplative. It contrasts with the more dramatic synopses Prime had communicated previously, and suggests the series will favour an atmospheric approach rather than a frantic pace. It calls to mind the best Nordic productions of the past fifteen years.
The Broken Coast arrives on Prime Video on September 5, 2026. All eight episodes of the first season will be available simultaneously.
