Netflix has officially started production on Deep Signal season 2 in Iceland. Following the unexpected success of season one — 48 million households reached in 90 days according to official figures — the platform had confirmed the renewal back in March. Today comes the confirmation that production is well and truly underway.
The series' co-creators, Sofia Andrade and Meike Krüger, shared a first behind-the-scenes photo on social media: a volcanic coastline shrouded in mist, with the simple caption "Signal 2 — Day 1." Understated and effective, much like the show itself.
Little information has leaked about the content of season two. It is known that the full main cast will return, and that the season will explore "the long-term consequences of the signal — psychological, social, and perhaps something much greater," in the words of Sofia Andrade in an interview with the Icelandic press.
Deep Signal season 2 is expected on Netflix in Autumn 2027. No specific broadcast date has yet been announced.
